Seaside Haven By Thomas Kinkade (Vault)

A small village nestled in a bucolic cove serves as haven to all who are weathering a storm. It may be rough seas that are battering a vessel filled with maritime wayfarers or it may be the turmoil of life that is working to break the individual spirit, but in either case… this homey harbor offers peace and the refuge needed to rediscover direction. There is a message in this work that we should all take to heart. No matter how great the tempest, we never have to face it alone if we let the light guide us. This idea has never been as thoroughly and profoundly stated in my brother’s work than in this canvas, entitled Seaside Haven.

The lighthouse in the background serves to guide those lost at sea while the lightpost in the foreground brings the sojourner on foot in from the darkest night. And in between these two physical beacons stands the most powerful and important light of all. God’s light shines mightily in the small community church fronting the coast as it waves forward all those lost in life to find comfort inside. It is this more than anything that Thom wanted his collectors to understand. God is real and eternal while trouble is ephemeral and will pass as a morning mist does in the afternoon sun. “Stand fast against the storm,” he would say, “And let the light deliver you safely back into grace.” From my brother, and all those involved at the Thomas Kinkade Studios, we thank you for sharing the light.

It is a rainy evening in Paris; my wife and I decide that it is time to get a table and toast to the blessings which brought us to the majestic city of lights. As the glow of the Eiffel tower lights up the rainy streets surrounding us, we take in the sounds of the various people passing by. Families shop for this and that, couples sharing their first romantic date, and those like us, taking in the sights and enjoying an evening in this breathtaking city. There is nothing quite like the sound of people having the time of their lives. As the evening winds down to an end, the clinging of wine glasses can be heard all through the streets, signifying just where we are and adding that final touch to our amazing night. Here is to a toast to Paris.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation will always bring a smile to everyone’s face. Viewers love the absurdity of the circumstances into which Clark Griswold put himself. Whether it is uprooting an over-large tree for it to serve in his family’s Christmas tradition or causing a citywide power outage because he turned on his 25,000 oddly-hung twinkle lights, Clark’s incompetent but sincere efforts to provide his family the perfect holiday season are always a joy to watch.

For the Kinkade family, Christmas was really a surreal cacophony of odd events but through it all, they were happy. Their mother’s faith and warming smile always kept the real importance of holiday understood and their father’s brand of mischief could rival that of any North Pole elf and always made his boys laugh to tears. Their beloved Placerville, with all of its notable and notorious characters, was home, a place where they were loved and where they learned to love with an open heart and giving beliefs. The film, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation assuredly does not depict the perfectly curated Christmas, but it does depict a family Christmas: a holiday of faith and fun and time spent with all of those who truly matter the most. From everyone at the Thomas Kinkade Studios, we thank you for sharing the light and wish you a very merry Christmas.

“Light of the World” by Mark Keathley

Available sizes 18×24, 25.5×34, 30×40

By way of virgin birth, God side stepped the curse of sin and entered the world as man was originally created to be – Connected to the father by His indwelling Spiritual Life – ETERNAL LIFE. This LIFE was to be the Light of Men (that governing force within men which could guide each man in the light.) He was the Lamb of God born to “take away the sin of the world” (that self powering force which drive…s all men born in Adam to live separate from God.) By His perfect and sinless life, he was an acceptable sacrifice to pay for all the sin of all mankind. So, now, who ever believes in Him, steps out of darkness and bondage and into freedom and light. In HIM is no darkness. In HIM is no sin or condemnation. In Him is perfection.

Jesus came saying “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” When we admit our need for His Light and acknowledge our own sin and darkness, we can then receive HIS LIFE (that inner Spiritual connection to God) and become Sons, Heirs to the promise, and Children of Light. We step out of Darkness and into a Kingdom with no condemnation or judgment on us, and therefore a place where we should judge no man. This is a new place where the KING, Himself, took on the penalty and judgment for all our sin, and reigns down on us blessing as sons and daughters. By Faith alone, we are placed into the new kingdom – we are IN HIM – JESUS – THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
