In a fast food society, it is very easy to acquire anything with just a phone
call or the click of a mouse. However, there are a few things that just should
not be purchased in such a fashion. Would you buy a house or a car after seeing
a picture and reading a few sentences about it? Of course not! These are major
investments that take time and understanding. Such is the acquisition of limited
edition prints of any origin. Thomas Kinkade canvases are an investment not only
monetarily but also in the decor scheme of your home and/or office. This
is why we at Art of the South offer the assistance of an Art Consultant to help
you in your efforts. We also felt a need to provide you with a few guidelines to
purchasing limited edition art. Below you will find a step by step primer that
also includes links and images to make it more interactive. So what are we
waiting for? Let's learn together.
1. Selecting an Image
Thomas Kinkade has released more than three hundred images of his artwork.
Finding the right one for your needs may seem a little daunting. This is why we
included the Artwork
button on the menu bar. There you will find possibly one of the most complete listings of Thomas
Kinkade's works. You can search by the name of the piece, by a description of
key elements in the image such as snow or ocean, by a specific category - like
Lighthouse or Cottage or you can just browse through our Image Gallery to see
what catches your eye.
2. Selecting a Size
Now that you have found the piece that you like, you will note that we have also
included the available sizes of the Image. The size not only affects the overall
price but also where you can place it. Certain pieces were only released in the
smaller sizes and would not be considered suitable for places with much space to
be filled.
3. Selecting an Edition
This is a very important step in collecting Limited Edition art. An image's
edition determines not only its features, such as remarque stamping, but also
the number of available pieces out in the world. The higher the edition, the
smaller the release number and thus the more desirable the print is to the
collector. For more information on Editions, we've included a primer on Editions
on this site, you can find it on our menu bar. It looks like this...
4. A Frame for Every Occasion Now that you have the perfect image, you will need the perfect
frame to display it in. Art of the South prides itself in its selection of
frames that complement Kinkade artwork In all, we carry 8 unique frames. To see
them with the image that you are interested in, click the Frames button on the
menu bar or the one just below this paragraph.
5. Final Details With your choices all decided upon - the next question you may be
wondering what you need to do to get the Image hanging on your wall. First of
all, knowing the cost of your canvas in the frame you selected might help. If
the Artwork section listed your print as "In Circulation" then click on the link
below to determine the price. If it reads anything else, please call your Art of
the South Consultant to get a quote. In
